Garpenberg Castle was built in 1801 and is designed by Swedish architect Kristoffer Gjörwell who found his inspiration in France and it´s royal castles. The castle and surrounding wings are marked as a historical landmark since 1935. Garpenberg is run as a hotel and conference facility since 1997.
Beautifully set in the lush forests in south Dalecarlia, only 1 ½ hour from Stockholm, it offers a retreat from the busy city life. The hotel can accommodate over 100 persons, and the grand conference room can seat 90. Our á la carte restaurant can seat 70 guests for dinner. We can offer a lot of activities; skeet, tennis, skiing and winetasting are just a few. Or why not just relax and take a walk in the beautiful surroundings, who knows maybe if you are lucky, you will see a moose…
The facility is run by Maria Sandberg and Peter Gaszynski who have a past in the field of interior design. This is prominent as you walk through the beautifully decorated rooms and interiors of Garpenberg. Hopefully a stay with us will create everlasting memories of Garpenberg, Dalecarlia and Sweden.
